Teachers’ Felicitation Ceremony on Teacher’s Day in Mewat

Education is a foundation for the creation of good society. Mewat, being a backward district of Haryana has various issues related to education. SRF Foundation has been striving to provide a platform for the like-minded stakeholders to contribute for the upliftment of education status in the area since 2009. On the occasion of Teacher’s day celebration, SRF Foundation along with Coca-Cola, Sun Edition, Tetra Pak, Enrich Agro, Department of Elementary Education, Haryana and UN Habitat organized an event “Aabhar”- Teachers’ Felicitation Ceremony at Government Primary School campus Tapkan, Nuh, Mewat, Haryana. The Headmasters and Teachers of the school were felicitated by a momento given away by the chief guests during the Teachers’ day ceremony.

Addressing the audience, Ms. Charlotte Oedes, Global Director, Women’s Economic Empowerment, Coca-Cola said that the Girl’s education is pivotal in these kinds of rural areas, where community’s awareness is low. Encouraging the school children, Ms. Joanna Price, Director Group Public Affairs and Communication, Coca-Cola said that contribution of all the stakeholders is significant in order to provide basic amenities and facilities in the school. SRF Foundation along with other partners has implemented the “NDTV-Coca Cola Support My School” campaign in Tapkan School to facilitate the provision of drinking water, sanitation facility, library, playground, etc. The Additional Deputy Collector, Mewat, Mr. Pradeep Godara, acknowledged the contribution of teachers for promoting education in Schools. Prof. Subhash Chander, Coca-Cola’s Advisory Council on Environment and Sustainability suggested the students to take care of the facilities provided in schools under the ‘Support My School’ Campaign. Dr. Pradip Nandi, Chief Technical Advisor, UN Habitat motivated the students and advised them to be regular with studies and also to contribute for their families, villages, cities and finally to the country. Dr. Suresh Reddy, Director, SRF Foundation thanked all the stakeholders for their valuable contributions and taking the campaign ahead sustainably.  Mr. Juhurdeen, Sarpanch, Tapkan said that such programs leads to the holistic development of the village. The children thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony along with their teachers and parents.

NDTV covered the ceremony followed by a Football Match played between the two School Teams duly facilitated by Libero Sports organization on the occasion of Teachers Day.
